2006 Hadlock Banjo Hangout Steve DiBonaventura & Mike Kuehn
Stephen DiBonaventura started playing the tenor banjo on his 12th birthday. He became involved with the Philadelphia string bands and marched in the annual Mummer’s Day Parade on News Year’s day. In 1988, Steve was invited to perform at the White House as a special guest soloist with the United States Air Force Band. He has also played with several jazz bands and has performed at Harrah’s Casino and the Showboat Hotel Casino in Atlantic City, NJ. A member of the Bayside Banjo Society, Steve is an active participant at the annual Allenberry Banjo Weekend. He has several CD's and one is collaborated with Gil Corella a Tuba Professor in Wash DC area. Steve is an attorney by day, saying that was the best way to afford the luxury of being a professional tenor banjoist on his free time. His son Luke Jango is destined to be another strong banjo player in a few years. Mike Kuehn of Allentown, PA is an accomplished tenor banjo play and also a known as “Felix the Cat” Kuehn: banjo and ukulele artist. Mike comes from a musical family, having done banjo and Dixie music with his father. This will be the first music visit for both Steve and Mike to the Northwest. We welcome them to the Great Northwest, yet don't want the weather to be too good or we won't be able to keep them playing at the Inn.
